Future Scientists!

The Bears earned their Super Science belt loops by tackling several STEM experiments.

HAIR-RAISING and WALL CLIMBING TRICKS

We learned how static electricity works and used it to make our hair stand on end, balloons stick to the ball and even move an aluminum can without even touching it.

 COLOR EXPLOSIONS in MILK

We made crazy color designs in milk by putting a small amount of soap in and watching it dance with the fat molecules in the milk.

 SUGAR IS SO HEAVY!!

We learned about how the amount of sugar in juices makes them more dense.  The most dense juices sink to the bottom.  We were able to stack up 3 different juices in our cylinder with colored water on top.

 GETTING A CLOSER LOOK!!

We observed various plants and animals (dead) that we found during our hike under our microscope.

Some highlights:

Bee Stinger

Golden Bee Wings

Feed My Starving Children

February 7, 2017

Pack 468 attended Feed My Starving Children located in Schaumburg right across from REI on Golf rd.

We had 4 assembly lines going for 1.5 hours and packed enough rice, dried vegetables, and vitamin mix to feed 39 children for an entire year in Uganda

They also had some made at the end for us to taste it.  It was well.... think oatmeal, rice, with a little chicken bullion mixed in.  The kids made some faces but I explained to them how important that this is for nutrition that without this the kids are so starving that they don't have energy to even attend school.

Thanks to all that came out everyone was having fun making it a competition.
